ISAIA HURON UNVEILS NEW SINGLE, “GLT FREESTYLE,” AN EXPLORATION OF HIS VICES AND HEARTBREAK, OUT TOD

Rising Alt-R&B artist, Isaia Huron, captures the unfiltered emotions of a fresh heartbreak in his new single, “GLT Freestyle,” out today via Good Partners / Virgin Music. In the days following a painful break-up, Isaia moved into his hometown church, where he freestyled his raw emotions into a broken mic. The result is an experimental instrumental and abstract vocal melodies that emphasize Huron’s turmoil as he addresses his vices and distills his feelings of hopelessness. “GLT Freestyle” follows the release of his latest EP, LIBBIE 02, which is an adaptation of his previous body of work that has been entirely reimagined to sonically provoke new emotions and messaging. Isaia is currently on the road as the opener for Chiiild’s Better Luck in The Next Life Tour. Stream “GLT Freestyle” here and view all of Isaia’s show dates here.

Isaia Huron’s roots and love for music began in the same hometown church in Greenville, South Carolina. Every Sunday, he witnessed the power of music and learned how songwriting works. These early memories would follow Isaia when he took his music career to Nashville in 2018 as an in-demand touring drummer who was breaking out as a solo artist. He simultaneously worked on defining his own sound, honing his skills and growing in confidence as a singer, songwriter and producer. In 2020, Isaia released his debut EP, Three, which showcased his dynamic vocals and keen ear for pairing sultry R&B with melodic pop hooks, especially on the standout single “Loving You Is A Mountain.” Later that year he followed up with Libbie, a compilation compromised of early material, as well as a pair of singles, “Somehow I Knew,” and a cover of DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You.” His string of releases continued in 2021 with two EPs, Bound and Cerulean Tapes, which consisted of the fan-favorite cover of “One in a Million.” Last year, Isaia dedicated his entire focus to reexamining his previous outputs as a practice to evolve his craft. What derived from this reflective process was LIBBIE 02. Recorded in less than a week at the tail end of 2022, the project was deconstructed to examine what Isaia believes are the three most important parts of artistry — creation, adaptation and mastery. LIBBIE 02 earned tremendous playlisting support, including the cover of Spotify's Alternative R&B Playlist, as well as placements on “New Music Friday” and “Pollen.” With early co-signs from the likes of 6lack, Justine Skye and most recently Drake, Isaia is focused on carving out his own innovative sound. Isaia is “someone on the radar for quite some time now and his continued artistic progression over the past few years comes as no surprise to anyone who’s followed his musical journey up until now,” Lyrical Lemonadeheralded.
