DETROIT RAP STAR CASH KIDD TOUCHES GRASS IN THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR HIS NEW SINGLE “JINX!”...

Cash Kidd —Detroit’s punchline king— is riding the momentum of his acclaimed recent album, BeBe Kidd 3, and today he released a brand new single and video titled “Jinx!.” Packed with comedic charm and Cash Kidd’s eccentric one-liners, the track is another testament to Cash Kidd’s wild imagination. For the “Jinx!” music video, which is directed by Proxclusiv, Cash Kidd shows off his athletic prowess as he hits the golf course and shoots hoops with the homies. The Machu-produced track is the first taste of new music from Cash Kidd since his album BeBe Kidd 3 earlier this year.

Released on March 31st via EMPIRE, BeBe Kidd 3 included standout collabs with the likes of E-40, Drakeo The Ruler, Babyface Ray, Payroll Giovanni, BlueBucksClan and many more. BeBe Kidd 3 was named as one of “The Best Albums of Spring 2023” by i-D who wrote that Cash Kidd “embodies everything that makes the city’s rap music great. His mix of razor sharp wit, detailed scene-setting and earnest emotions makes him an artist whose discography is a joy to dive into, and BeBe Kidd 3 is a perfect place to start.”

Detroit rap mainstay, Cash Kidd, has become an unexpected hero amongst street rappers, inspiring countless artists with his endless flow of original bars. “People deserve to hear what I'm going through. I ain't post in a minute; I'd rather give it to 'em through music,” Cash Kidd says. Although he's already had a prolific rap career, it wasn't until recently that he started to really embrace rap stardom. In the early days, coming up in Detroit's 6 Mile, Cash Kidd would take months between releases and used his spotlight for friends and peers. However, when he did share songs from his vault, the reactions were viral. Early videos like “On My Mama” and “Privileges” have generated tens of millions of views apiece on YouTube and Cash Kidd’s music has had an undying presence in the city ever since. In recent years however, Cash Kidd's creative output has gone into overdrive and new music has been released at a rapid pace. His No Socks mixtape series has been particularly popular and includes a star studded list of features including Sada Baby, 42 Dugg, Baby Tron, Rio Da Yung Og and Mozzy, to name a few. The No Socks single “Unappreciated” was named by Passion Of The Weiss as one of the best rap songs of the year in 2020 and Complex named Cash Kidd as one of “rap’s funniest, most quotable new artists.” Complex wrote, “I don’t know if I’ve heard that many creative punchlines in a row since mixtape-era Lil Wayne.” Cash Kidd’s wordplay has earned him a reputation as an elite rapper, always demonstrating a knack for uncompromising honesty in his music as he blends humor, pain, and reality into his lyrics. He appeared alongside Eminem on Big Sean’s chart-topping Detroit 2 and artists like Blueface and NoCap have named Cash Kidd as an inspiration. 2023 has been an eventful year with a steady stream of new releases including high profile collaborations such as “OH BOY” with Kash Doll, “Out The Gutter” with Heembeezy and “GEEKALEEK” with OhGeesy. As time goes on, it’s becoming evident that Cash Kidd has played a vital role in continuing the lineage of great punchline rappers.
